A hacker was sentenced to 18 months for private images, wills, confidentiality of medical reports and CV, by e-mail scam.
During his stay in Scotland, Matthew Anderson has worked as part of an international gang which uses phishing e-mail virus origin to access individual computers and companies’ computers between September 2005 and June 2006. Anderson was charged under the Computer Misuse Act UK.
According to the BBC Southwark Crown Court prosecutor Hugh Davies described the gang’s success as a “fundamental breach of security” and he said, “The conduct involved the repeated distribution of cleverly disguised e-mails, measured by the million, if not tens of millions, bearing sophisticated viruses.”
Once the viruses got into the targets’ computers Anderson and his co-horts were able to access private data including images, wills, confidential medical reports and CVs.
The study concluded that the benefits obtained from the gang activity of hacking were the opportunities it has generated. It seems that it was very difficult to go only to generate leads or if a company is looking to buy or sell anything. They would have better honestly.
