As reported by E-Security Planet, security software vendor Symantec expects attacks aimed to increase dramatically as hackers develop its capacity to collect data from social networks and consumer sites to develop campaigns that are more likely to catch their prey.
Trojans, viruses and worms like Stuxnet will also find their way into more critical infrastructure systems as malware authors seek out more high-value targets for their wares.
And while the overall volume of spam decreased significantly in the second half of 2010, Symantec offers a marked increase in spam directed language, especially in Europe and Asia.
